The Foothills Christian Knights will take on the Maranatha Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Foothills Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Francis Parker 17-2 last Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.
Emma Romeka made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Foothills Christian got a massive performance out of Kenidi Phoenix, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Phoenix a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Steele, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Foothills Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Maranatha Christian entered their tilt with Orange Glen on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 16-6 win.
Kennedy Arango was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Abby Morales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Maranatha Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Foothills Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Everything went Foothills Christian's way against Maranatha Christian in their previous meeting back in April, as Foothills Christian made off with an 11-0 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
