The Cascade Cadets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Cloverdale on the road to the tune of 62-30. Given Cascade's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Cloverdale is ranked 408th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cascade to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Austin, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Austin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Creedance Chittenden, who scored nine points along with nine steals.
Cascade pushed their record up to 8-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Cloverdale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Cloverdale, they will head out on the road to take on Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northview will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
