Softball Recap: Glenns Ferry Has No Trouble Against Wilder

Glenns Ferry had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wilder on Monday. The Pilots put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 15-5 victory. Considering the Pilots have won ten games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Stewart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sahira Arevalo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Klaira King was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Glenns Ferry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilder only posted an OBP of .364.

Glenns Ferry's record is now 11-2. As for Wilder, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenns Ferry will square off against Idaho City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pilots will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches. As for Wilder, they will face off against Greenleaf Friends Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
