The Mariemont Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Blanchester Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Mariemont turned things around against Northwest on Thursday. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
Harper Stickley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Hallee VanVleet, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Blanchester got the win against Norwood on Saturday by a conclusive 20-4. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Blanchester got a massive performance out of Bailie Bare, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Bare is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Strange, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Blanchester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Blanchester has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Mariemont, their record now sits at 2-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mariemont has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blanchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
