Section 3 Class B - West recap September 24, 2013
Homer's Jake Casey recorded the longest rushing play in Section 3 Class B - West this season in his game against Chittenango last week. Casey ran for 74 yards on the play and finished with 120 on the day as his team topped the Bears.
Marcellus moved up to 142 from 201 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Cazenovia 43-35.
Birdlebough's dynamic duo of Brock Maruscak and Tim Gandino proved tough for Cortland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Maruscak threw for 26 yards and Gandino had 21 yards receiving.

The Firebirds' Billy Ostrander and Maruscak have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ostrander has thrown for 153 yards this season, while Maruscak, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 3 catches for 77 yards. Homer's Bush leads the league in rushing yards with 436.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Homer takes on second place Westhill.
The Purple Tigers led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on Birdlebough.
