After flying high against the Northern Burlington Greyhounds last Wednesday, the Burlington City Blue Devils came back down to earth. Burlington City took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Medford Tech on Friday. While losing is never fun, Burlington City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Medford Tech is ranked 78th).
Nesta Rice continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Medford Tech, scoring 25 points along with five steals. Rice is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tre Powell, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Burlington City's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. As for Medford Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Burlington City will head out on the road to challenge Burlington Township at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Medford Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pemberton at 6:30 p.m.
