The Elizabeth Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elizabeth will be strutting in after a win while Manitou Springs will be coming in after a defeat.
Elizabeth took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 62-31 victory over Woodland Park.
Elizabeth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryan Jeffs, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Brinkworth, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Manitou Springs pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Peyton by a score of 59-56.
Elizabeth's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Manitou Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Elizabeth might still be hurting after the 42-21 defeat they got from Manitou Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Elizabeth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
