West Henderson put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Smoky Mountain Mustangs with a sharp 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kayden Lyda was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Hall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

West Henderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Henderson's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Smoky Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

West Henderson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against A.C. Reynolds at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Smoky Mountain, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Hayesville on the 17th.
