This season hasn't been kind to the Northwood Panthers, who are still winless after their 19th game. They took a serious blow against Honaker on Wednesday, falling 73-10. Northwood has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Honaker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalli Miller, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Miller continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna McNulty, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Northwood dropped their record down to 0-19 with that defeat, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Honaker, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Honaker is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Virginia (the Tigers are ranked 89th, while the Panthers are ranked 415th). As for Honaker, they will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 19 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
