Basketball Recap: Sam Lowther Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

Stafford won the last time they faced Fairfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Stafford Trojans came out on top against the Fairfield Falcons by a score of 59-50.

Stafford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Lowther, who posted 16 points along with seven boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Lowther is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Cody Knoche was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Stafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Stafford's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Fairfield, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Stafford will challenge Otis-Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stafford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Fairfield, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Fairfield Falcons challenge the Skyline Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
