The Baker Hornets posted their biggest victory since December 22, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over Davidson. Given Baker's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Davidson is ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Baker was led to victory by Dashawn Thomas and Desmond Williams. Thomas scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Williams scored 16 points. Parrias Baker was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Baker pushed their record up to 18-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Davidson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will face off against Theodore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Theodore will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Davidson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bryant at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
