The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southeastern Local, who took down 416th ranked Southeastern Local, 29-19.
West Liberty-Salem extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Heritage this week by beating Mechanicsburg, 42-19. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
The Indians' dynamic duo of Colin VERNON and Brandon PURK proved tough for West Liberty-Salem to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. VERNON threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns and PURK had 132 yards receiving. Austin MILLEDGE helped Mechanicsburg's passing attack out by catching four balls for 39 yards.
Chance Frye was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 178 yards as Greeneview lost to Toby Smith's team. Teammate Logan Reed added to the ground attack by rushing for 20 yards.
Mechanicsburg's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. VERNON has thrown for 1270 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while PURK has 44 catches for 857 yards. Aeryton ERWIN leads the league in rushing with 744 yards.
A big matchup in Ohio Heritage this week will be when Triad takes on the Trojans. At the moment, the Cardinals are in second, while Southeastern Local is in third.
Northeastern moved up to 519 from 574 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jets climbed the ranks as a result of beating Greg Bonifay's team 29-19.
