Given Saint Andrew's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Park Vista is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Andrew's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Vick out in front who scored 12 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Vick hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Trey Rieland, who scored 20 points.
Despite the loss, Park Vista still got an impressive performance from Joshua Riviere, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenten Watkins, who scored four points.
Saint Andrew's has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Park Vista, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Saint Andrew's will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Fork at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. South Fork will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Park Vista won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Palm Beach Gardens at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th.
