Stephen Kemp was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Munford saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Curly Lowry, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Munford has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Memphis Home Education Association, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Memphis Home Education Association has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Munford struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
