The Flatonia Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They and Holland were almost perfectly matched up, but Flatonia suffered an agonizing 37-36 loss. The game was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but Flatonia was just barely outscored by Holland in the second.
When it comes to explaining why Flatonia lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kobe Burton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Keegan Green, who gained 126 total yards and two touchdowns.
Flatonia's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Holland, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Flatonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holland will be playing in front of their home fans against Harper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harper will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 878th, while Holland is ranked 335th).
