While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Appling Christian Academy Eagles were not quite the Heritage Christian Academy Eagles's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Appling Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Heritage Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Appling Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bella Gray, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Katelyn Jarrett who scored nine points along with two steals. Gray hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games.
This is the second loss in a row for Appling Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appling Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brunswick Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Appling Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Alleluia Community at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
