Antelope extended the longest winning streak in Capital this week by beating Mira Loma, 42-20. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Titans.
The Matadors moved up to 695 from 731 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mira Loma climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Antelope 42-20.
Sutter Choisser was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 114 yards as Whitney bested Kirk Anderson's team. Kwane Wilkinson also contributed to the rushing game with 109 yards on the ground.
Jonah Lessard threw for 149 yards and four touchdowns. He was four-six with zero interceptions.
Mercado was the best wideout in Capital this week as the Titans beat the Matadors. Mercado racked up seven receptions for 112 yards. Tyler Winston helped Antelope's passing attack out by catching four balls for 74 yards.
Geno Chiarpotti made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wildcats topped Rio Americano. The 6-foot-0 junior grabbed two sacks.
On the ground, Whitney's Choisser has rushed for 848 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zack Suarez. The Rio Americano star has 21 catches for 438 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when El Camino takes on Mike Gimenez's team. The Eagles' offense has recorded 256 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Wildcats have permitted only 54 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Whitney takes on El Camino. At the moment, the Wildcats are in first, while Adam Reinking's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Whitney and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Wildcats comes in having scored 238 this season, while El Camino has scored 256. Whitney scored 36 points last week as it defeated the Raiders.
