AMHERST, Va. - the Lancers had a big 25-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 46-14 victory over Liberty (Bedford, Va.).
Amherst County scored on a
Sidney Sandidge touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Dominique Brown and a touchdown pass by
Kyle Edwards to
Lonnie Rose in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Edwards touchdown pass to
Darius Wilson in the first quarter, AC led 39-7 at the half.
The Amherst school expanded its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. The Lancers scored once in the quarter on a
Marquis Brown touchdown run.
Amherst County's standout player in the win was Brown. The junior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
AC came into the game allowing 14.8 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 28-12 win for the Lancers.
With the win Amherst County extended its winning streak to three games.
