This season hasn't been kind to the Central Valley Falcons, who are still winless after their fifth game. They suffered a rough 81-55 loss at the hands of West Valley on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Central Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Webster, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Vincent Vanpal, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals.
Zack Boemeke was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds for West Valley. Weston Kibler was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Central Valley's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for West Valley, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mt. Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. West Valley will take on Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enterprise presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Valley in California (Enterprise is ranked 156th, while West Valley is ranked 717th).
