Hudson Carvalho was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Carvalho wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Foss, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Foss has posted since back in March.
Issaquah's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Issaquah will face off against Bothell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
