Seneca is 8-2 against De Soto since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Seneca has three straight victories, De Soto has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Seneca came out on top against Hillsboro on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Indians took their game against the Tigers 13-9.
Seneca got a massive performance out of Raya Wallin, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those three hits gave Wallin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittany Heisz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, De Soto came up short against Ithaca/Weston on Monday and fell 8-5.
Kylee Venner made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sylvia Krueger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
The win got Seneca back to even at 6-6. As for De Soto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seneca has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like De Soto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seneca was able to grind out a solid victory over De Soto in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 5-1. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
