Jamarion Pegues Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Oxford's Jamarion Pegues, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Pegues rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (121.7). Those 190 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Oxford moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Pegues' next matchup is against DeSoto Central on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Perry might have his next game, a road matchup with Oxford, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Perry saw the Chargers), he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.

DeSoto Central was led to victory by Lenden Fairley, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.
This season, Fairley has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 85.8 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.
