On Friday, The Moses Lake Mavericks faced the Chiawana Riverhawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Moses Lake took a 49-32 bruising from Chiawana. It was the first time this season that Moses Lake let down their fans at home.
Moses Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Jay, who threw for 416 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kyson Thomas, who picked up 167 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Moses Lake's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Chiawana, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Moses Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chiawana also has no future games currently scheduled.
