Section 5 Monroe Division II recap Oct. 9, 2012
Brockport extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Monroe Division II this week by beating Greece Arcadia, 34-8. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Blue Devils.
Spencerport made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,228 from 4,748. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 37-31 victory over Greece Athena last week.
Churchville-Chili's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Iacucci threw for 55 and one touchdown and Robbie Kastner had 29 yards receiving. On the ground James Latona chipped in 88 yards. Latona helped Churchville-Chili's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Iacucci and Josh Powell the Saints have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Iacucci leads the league in passing with 896 yards, while Powell has rushed for 781 yards this season. The Trojans' Ryan Prevost leads the league in receiving yards with 350 on 23 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Greece Athena takes on Brockport. The Trojans are currently in third, while the Blue Devils are in first.
