The Watseka Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Momence Momence Athletics at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Watseka is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Watseka came out on top against Cissna Park on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Warriors put the hurt on the Timberwolves with a sharp 10-0 victory.

Mason Galyen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Watseka's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Watseka got a massive performance out of Quinn Starkey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The Warriors are 4-1 when Starkey posts two or more runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was James Newell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bloom hit Momence with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Momence Athletics came up short against the Blazing Trojan, falling 10-3.
Caden Wiechec was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
At the plate, Momence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ford, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Watseka's record now sits at 9-13. As for Momence, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Watseka took their win against Momence in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Momence Athletics turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
