The Packinghouse Christian Academy Bears will square off against the Bethel Christian Kings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Packinghouse Christian Academy is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 18-1 margin over Norton Science & Language Academy. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Emily Toma was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Toma was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Hopkins, who scored three runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Madison Katsikaris was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethel Christian). Everything went their way against Loma Linda Academy two weeks ago as Bethel Christian made off with a 20-9 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Kings.
Like Packinghouse Christian Academy, Bethel Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaila Ellison. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Ellison was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Bethel Christian let Monroe Kamio and Maliyah Jarrett run wild. Kamio fired off three triples, three RBI, and two runs while going 4-for-4, while Jarrett went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Finlee Milhouse, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Bethel Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .618. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
