The Provo Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Payson Lions with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Provo walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Lions on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Provo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finn Powelson, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powelson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Carter, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Payson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kamika Wesley, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Legend Reynoso was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Provo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Payson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.
Provo will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. As for Payson, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
