Union City won the last time they faced Girard and things went their way on Thursday too. Union City put the hurt on Girard with a sharp 13-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Union City let Cheyenne Cummings and Grace Chapman run wild. Cummings scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Chapman went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave Cummings a new career-high. Alissa Leech was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Union City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Girard only posted an OBP of .100.

Union City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Girard, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will host Slippery Rock at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Union City is facing Slippery Rock at the right time seeing as Slippery Rock is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Girard, they will face off against Corry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
