The Calvary Christian Cougars will head out to  take on the Bellevue Tigers  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Calvary Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7  runs per game  this season.
While Calvary Christian's  win against Ludlow wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars won by a  run and slipped past the Panthers  4-3. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Josh Ruwe was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Ruwe wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Cal Ruwe, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.  Nate Ruwe also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hit of the season.
 Meanwhile, Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They lost  10-1 to Holy Cross.
 Calvary Christian's victory was  their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 8-2. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
 Calvary Christian took their  victory against Bellevue  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  14-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
