The Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans struggled with offensive rebounds on Thursday (the Centennial Eagles had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Somerset College Prep Academy fell 60-52 to the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Somerset College Prep Academy had strong showings from Kaeley Ciceron, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Kayla Curry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Ciceron is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laylah Dawkins, who scored five points along with two steals.
Jailyn Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Centennial, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Fields, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Somerset College Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset College Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Tradition Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jupiter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Eagles are ranked 99th).
