The West Clermont Wolves were the 57-54 winner over the Winton Woods Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. West Clermont received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 55-36 to Winton Woods. West Clermont has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the defeat, West Clermont saw an underclassman step up: Layla Hale scored 20 points. Paige Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
West Clermont's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Winton Woods, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
West Clermont will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Walnut Hills at 7:00 p.m. Walnut Hills will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Winton Woods, they will head out on the road to square off against Turpin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Turpin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Winton Woods is ranked 33rd).
