The East Iberville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 40-36 defeat to they. They lost against Plaquemine in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-20 score last time.
Plaquemine found their leader in underclassman Comora Davis, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Latyrian Perkins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
East Iberville's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-7. As for Plaquemine, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
East Iberville's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Dutchtown at 5:30 p.m. on January 9th. Plaquemine is on the road again on Friday and play against Baker at 5:00 p.m. on January 5th. Baker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Plaquemine is ranked 59th).
