Central Connecticut III East recap Oct. 9, 2012
Berlin extended the longest winning streak in Central Connecticut III East this week by beating Weaver, 47-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Berlin took down the Beavers 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitch Williams threw for 122 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
John Capodice's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Justin Gombotz chipped in 82 yards. Gombotz helped Berlin's passing attack out by catching two balls for 32 yards.
Tyler Bouchard was the best wideout in the league this week as the Redcoats bested Weaver. Bouchard tallied two receptions for 34 yards.
Berlin's Williams and Bouchard have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 590 yards this season, while Bouchard, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 11 catches for 223 yards. Justin Potts from Platt leads the league in rushing with 576 yards.
Rockville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,644 from 13,696. The improvement came about via a 31-0 victory over the Rams last week.
