The Legacy Charter Eagles will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Crooms Academy Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Legacy Charter and seven for Crooms Academy dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Legacy Charter was beaten by Mount Dora Christian Academy 70-29. Legacy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Legacy Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mallory Daniels, who scored 13 points along with three steals, and Layni Combs who scored eight points. Daniels scored a full 44.8% of Legacy Charter's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-12, which was the final score in Crooms Academy's tilt against Mount Dora on Monday.
Despite the loss, Crooms Academy had strong showings from Erin Hassaballah, who scored six points, and Zoe Fulgencio, who scored six points. Fulgencio scored a full 50% of Crooms Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Legacy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crooms Academy, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
