With a playoff game on the line, the Langston Hughes Panthers rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Forsyth 41-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Langston Hughes, who have now won eight contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Justus Savage got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Savage was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Prentiss air Noland, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Langston Hughes, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for North Forsyth, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Langston Hughes will head out on the road to face off against Rome at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rome is on a five-game streak of home wins, Langston Hughes a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. North Forsyth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
