The Kingsland Knights put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Southland with a 75-70 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingsland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Howard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Howard's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtland Drury-DeBoer, who scored 22 points.
Kingsland's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Southland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grand Meadow at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Southland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
