The King City Wildkats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 56-25 defeat at the hands of Rock Port. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points King City has scored all season.
Rock Port's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bannack Skillen, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Skillen hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Corbyn Jakub, who scored ten points along with two steals.
King City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Rock Port, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Andrew at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Rock Port on the road again on Tuesday and play against Worth County at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Worth County is on a four-game streak of home wins, Rock Port a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
