The Northampton Yellowjackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against Nandua by a score of 74-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Northampton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylen Anderson, who scored 21 points along with six assists and two steals. Ronyell Coston was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with four steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makai Dorn, who scored nine points.
Northampton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Nandua, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6.
Northampton will square off against the Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Yellowjackets like a good challenge. As for Nandua, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Pocomoke is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.
