Plainfield is 6-1 against Union Catholic since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Plainfield suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Morris Catholic at home and fell 77-36. It was the first time this season that Plainfield let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Union Catholic had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Governor Livingston 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Union Catholic has posted yet this season.
Plainfield's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Union Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Plainfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Union Catholic when the teams last played on January 4th, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plainfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
