The Hernando Leopards had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 31-13 victory over Crystal River on Thursday. The victory was just what Hernando needed coming off of a 63-6 loss in their prior contest.
John Capel iii had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 251 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Capel iii was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Hernando's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Crystal River, their defeat was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Hernando will take on Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Crystal River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
