Stafford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jimi Oleson, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds. Brody Kerschenske was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 13 rebounds.
St. John's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Reyes, who scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Portillo, who scored 6 points.
Stafford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for St. John, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Stafford will head out on the road to face off against Otis-Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John, they will take on Ellis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
