Serra Catholic is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Jeannette is on an eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Jayhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Serra Catholic made easy work of Leechburg and carried off a 17-1 victory. While fans of the Eagles might be used to big wins, the 16-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Giana Foster made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Foster was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Serra Catholic got a massive performance out of Alonna Morton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Morton has posted since back in May of 2025. Brianna Dobnak was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, while Jeannette put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Ellis. The Jayhawks blew past Ellis 15-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jayhawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Abby Shaw was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Pitzer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Jeannette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ellis didn't got any.
Jeannette's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Serra Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Serra Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jeannette struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 13.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Serra Catholic got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Monday against Jeannette by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jayhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
