Softball Recap: Badin Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Badin had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They blew past the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets 10-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Kendall P. was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. P. was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Tristin Lewis looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Emily O'Brien was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Rohan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop McNicholas only posted a batting average of .091.

Badin's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Archbishop McNicholas, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Archbishop McNicholas will challenge Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aviators have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. Badin will be paying especially close attention to Archbishop McNicholas' match: after Archbishop McNicholas faces off against Sycamore, they'll take on Badin again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
