The South View Tigers lost to the Jack Britt Buccaneers back in February of 2023, but the South View Tigers didn't allow the Jack Britt Buccaneers the same satisfaction on Tuesday. South View came out on top against the Buccaneers by a score of 57-49.
South View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zakiera Gaillard, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Gaillard pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jayla Blue was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 21 rebounds and three blocks.
Jack Britt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zahara Gerald, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. Gerald hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia White, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
South View has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Jack Britt, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South View will square off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seventy-First has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Jack Britt, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas Byrd is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
