After flying high against the Thunder Ridge Longhorns last Friday, the Lakeside Knights came back down to earth. Lakeside fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Lakeside has suffered yet this season.
Lakeside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reece Remus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Remus hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jorden Schoen, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Lakeside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside will face off against Osborne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Osborne has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 326 points over their last five games. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Natoma on Friday.
