The NELA Christian Homeschool Flame will head out on the road to challenge the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. NELA Christian Homeschool will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, NELA Christian Homeschool needed a bit of extra time to put away Acadiana Christian. They managed a 53-49 win over the Lions.

NELA Christian Homeschool's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emory Niswanger, who posted nine points and six rebounds. What's more, Niswanger also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Bostyn Fisher, who put up 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, John Paul the Great Academy came into Friday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 38-34 W over Mount Olive Christian on Friday. The Guardians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

NELA Christian Homeschool pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for John Paul the Great Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.

Everything came up roses for NELA Christian Homeschool against John Paul the Great Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 39-11 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for NELA Christian Homeschool since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
