The Mayer Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against North Valley Christian Academy, falling 78-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mayer in their matchups with North Valley Christian Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Earl Williams was Mayer's leading scorer, having posted 13 points.
Easton Garcia held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Mayer bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for North Valley Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Mayer will be playing in front of their home fans against Music Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Music Mountain is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. North Valley Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Antelope at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Antelope is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
