Marathon and the Panther are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Marathon Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the Everglades Prep Academy Panther at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Marathon is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Thursday, Marathon was fully in charge, breezing past the 59-27 at home.
Marathon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was ADRIAN CRUZ out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals. JESUS GONZALEZ was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Everglades Prep Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They lost to South Miami at home by a decisive 62-46 margin. Everglades Prep Academy has not had much luck with the Cobras recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Marathon's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Everglades Prep Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Marathon suffered a grim 57-32 defeat to the Panther in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Marathon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
