The Tabernacle Christian Ram's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Shining Light Baptist Academy 59-53. Tabernacle Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Shining Light Baptist Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rebekah Henegar, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Henegar hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Haywood, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Tabernacle Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tabernacle Christian will challenge the Crusaders at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cramerton Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sharks in their respective states (the Mustangs are ranked 201st in South Carolina, while the Sharks are ranked 463rd in North Carolina).
