Magnolia West wouldn't let Morton Ranch keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Brayden Orr, Case Luckman, and Logan Blank picked up one apiece. With that strong performance, Luckman is now averaging an impressive 6 total tackles per game. Tyler Langley was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Klein Forest ended up a good deal behind Humble on Saturday and lost 22-7. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 133rd).
The win got Magnolia West back to even at 1-1. As for Klein Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Magnolia West took their victory against Klein Forest in their previous meeting back in August of 2016 by a conclusive 34-9.
